Project Overview

This bathroom pairs strong color with disciplined material choices. Navy blue cabinetry grounds the space, while bright white countertops and elongated white wall tile keep the room feeling open and refined. Gold fixtures and hardware introduce warmth and contrast without overwhelming the palette.

The tile selections were designed to layer texture and scale. Large-format gray floor tile establishes a solid foundation, while varied tile applications in the shower and tub surround create dimension through proportion and pattern rather than color.

Material & Composition

The large-format medium gray floor tile was installed with white grout to maintain brightness while allowing the tile’s scale to read clearly. Proper substrate preparation was critical to prevent lippage across the broader surface area.

In the shower, elongated white subway tile introduces clean vertical lines. The longer proportions modernize a familiar material and visually lift the space.

Underfoot, the shower floor shifts to a contrasting gray tile arranged in an intricate interlocking pattern. Smaller, patterned tile demands careful alignment to maintain symmetry and consistent spacing, particularly around the drain and perimeter edges.

A large-format white marble tile frames the bathtub, creating a quieter moment within the room. Its soft veining complements the overall palette while maintaining a cohesive, light backdrop.

Execution & Detail

Each transition between tile types was intentionally aligned. Grout joints were planned to avoid awkward slivers or misaligned edges where materials meet.

Large-format tile requires flat, level surfaces to ensure a seamless finish. The patterned shower floor required additional attention to maintain consistent pitch for drainage while preserving the integrity of the interlocking design.

The final result feels layered but controlled — strong color anchored by disciplined tile work and precise execution.
