Project Overview

This bathroom was designed around clarity and contrast. A clean white and gray palette establishes a calm foundation, while subtle shifts in scale and grout tone create dimension without visual noise.

Large-format marble tile spans the bathroom floor, shower walls, and surrounding walls, creating continuity throughout the space. A darker grout on the main floor grounds the room, while a crisp white grout on the vertical surfaces keeps the walls bright and cohesive.

Material & Contrast

The large-format marble tile introduces soft veining and subtle movement without overwhelming the space. Using the same tile on both floors and walls reinforces architectural continuity.

Grout selection plays a critical role here. Darker grout on the floor emphasizes the tile pattern and adds definition.Bright white grout on the walls maintains a seamless, airy appearance.

Inside the shower, a small-scale gray and white patterned tile provides contrast underfoot. The shift in scale creates visual interest while maintaining the established palette.

Precision in the Details

Large-format tile demands flat, well-prepared substrates. Even slight inconsistencies can telegraph through the finished surface. Careful leveling ensured consistent plane alignment across floor and wall transitions.

The shower niche was positioned deliberately, aligned with surrounding grout joints for a clean, intentional look. Its integration avoids disrupting the larger grid pattern of the wall tile.

Particular attention was paid to plumb and square tolerances within the shower enclosure. Because a fixed glass panel separates the shower from the freestanding tub, the walls and curb needed to be exact. Even minimal deviation can complicate glass installation.

The shower curb corners were mitered for a seamless appearance. Rather than using visible trim pieces, the edges meet cleanly, reinforcing the overall minimal aesthetic.

The Result

The finished bathroom feels bright and structured. Variation comes through material scale and grout contrast rather than color.

Behind the simplicity is disciplined execution: flat planes, aligned joints, precise corners, and a shower built true.

From first tile to final detail, we’ve got it covered.
